The Holiday Season Is Upon Us

  • The holiday season is a bustling time for restaurants and guests. The guests when visiting a restaurant likes to see the decor of the season. Halloween is a good start with pumpkins, corn stalks and gourds. These decorations may be carried over until Thanksgiving. The preparation of foods of the season also will help increase sales and keep the guests satisfied. Seasonal desserts such as Pumpkin Pie, Fresh Apple Pie, Baked Apples and Baked Pears are always a plus for sales. Main entrees served fresh and quickly always keep the guest returning for more.

  • Christmas and New Years Holiday decorations do not have to be religious in nature. Using artificial greens with some small low voltage bulbs add to the décor without affecting the guest religious preferences. Menus can be printed just saying "Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings". Trying to satisfy is the position of being in the hospitality business. For New Years Eve the restaurant owner may want to give out hats or noise makers at midnight, if they are opened that late. This will keep the guests lingering longer which means starting the New Year with more profit. The main idea is to satisfy the guest, increase sales and this will also keep employees happy with the increased income.
